Witness, Service, Life Together
September 25th, 2010
Starting tomorrow, St. Andrew’s Church will study what it means to live as God’s children by adoption.
We will learn what it means to have lives characterized by
Witness (Marturia)
Service (Diakonia)
Life Together (Koinonia)
These three concepts explain well what it means to live as God’s chosen people who have been commanded to “put on heartfelt compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, accepting one another and forgiving one another if anyone has a complaint against another. Just as the Lord has forgiven you, so also you must [forgive]. Above all, [put on] love—the perfect bond of unity.” (Colossians 3:12-14)
Join us as we learn to live as God’s baptized children who are to live lives of Mercy, Service, and Life Together.
In the interest of full disclosure, this sermon series is adapted from the emphasis of our friends in the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod who have adopted these as their emphasis for ministry! They term it “Witness, Mercy, Life Together”. May the Lord bless them and us as we seek to live lives that bring glory to Jesus Christ.
