For Overflowing Hearts (Romans 1:8-13)

Pastor Chuck Huckaby, January 24, 2010
Part of the Romans series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

There's a need in the church for overflowing hearts in the Church. Consider...

What kind of people attract others to Jesus Christ?

Have you ever wondered why churches don’t grow in size or in depth?

Have you ever wondered why we are powerless in so many ways?

Why do congregations and ministers fail to work together for the Glory of God?

Could it be because our hearts are not overflowing with faith in Jesus Christ?

Romans 1:8-13 describes the overflowing love for Christ that characterized the church at Rome and the apostle's response to their great faith.

How would it revolutionize our church life if our hearts were to overflow with love to Jesus Christ.

The sermon was only partially recorded due to a technical difficulty.

Romans 1:8-13

First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is proclaimed in all the world. For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I mention you 10 always in my prayers, asking that somehow by God's will I may now at last succeed in coming to you. 11 For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you— 12 that is, that we may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith, both yours and mine. 13 I want you to know, brothers, that I have often intended to come to you (but thus far have been prevented), in order that I may reap some harvest among you as well as among the rest of the Gentiles.
